12/03/2026 AI-supported machine vision for the shop floor: Pyramid Computer modular camera rail at embedded world 2026

We will be presenting at embedded world 2026 a modular solution for AI-supported machine vision along production and logistics lines. Our system combines cameras and lighting in a continuous rail architecture, enabling seamless visual detection along the shop floor. Image data is processed directly on site – quickly, securely, and independently of external cloud infrastructure.

The concept is based on modular lighting camera elements that can be connected to form rails up to ten meters in length, depending on the application. A complete rail is operated via a single power supply unit and a data interface. This significantly reduces installation costs while ensuring high scalability. Camera angles can be adjusted directly on site, allowing the system to be flexibly adapted to different production layouts or conveyor lines.

Installed along production or intralogistics lines, our Camera Rail enables continuous visual process monitoring. Typical areas of application include checking the completeness of assemblies, detecting the position and location of components on conveyor belts, and monitoring packaging and shipping processes. The system can also be used for safety-related applications such as monitoring hazardous areas or detecting unauthorized interference in automated processes.

A key component of the solution is the local processing of image data. Analysis is performed directly on powerful edge and AI serversfromour AKHET® . This results in virtually latency-free AI analyses in real time. At the same time, operators retain full control over their data at all times and remain independent of external cloud services.

The Camera Rail is designed as an open platform and can be operated with various AI software solutions. This allows companies to run different applications in parallel on the same hardware—from quality control and process monitoring to intralogistics applications such as shipment tracking, volume measurement, or the documentation of incoming and outgoing goods.

We will be showcasing the system for industrial applications for the first time at embedded world 2026 in Nuremberg (March 10–12) at booth 113 in hall 5. The technology is currently still in the project phase and can be implemented as part of individual customer solutions.
