02/06/2021 POLYTOUCH® NANO: Self-checkout market launch

PYRAMID enters the SCO and launches a new product designed specifically for food retailers.

As more and more people use self-checkout systems and more and more store operators recognize the benefits of supplementing their store concept with an alternative to established checkouts, SCO will be a dominant topic in food retailing in the near future.

In response to this trend, Pyramid Computer has developed a new product: the POLYTOUCH® NANO Mix 'n' Match. Based on a project with EDEKA, we brought all our expertise and knowledge into the development process, taking into account the requirements of operators and customers.

Mix 'n' match for maximum modularity

The result is a solution that embodies the highest level of modularity to ensure continuous accessibility both now and in the future. The wide range of peripherals makes the Nano an optimal solution to best meet individual requirements. The modules vary from an integrated scanner or hand scanner for larger checkout items to different printers, screen sizes or mounting options to build a self-checkout according to specific needs. The Nano is retrofittable and can be expanded with additional peripherals even after implementation.

Fully integrated design concept

The fully integrated design houses all modules in one housing, protecting them from damage. The structure of our Nano also allows for easy use and maintenance when needed, minimizing downtime. We are pleased to have realized this project and are satisfied to deliver a next-generation SCO that promotes the ongoing digitalization in food retail.
