26/02/2025 POLYTOUCH® OUTDOOR in version 2.0 configurable & orderable in the B2B portal

With the POLYTOUCH® OUTDOOR version 2.0, we are further expanding our position as a provider of digital self-service solutions for outdoor areas. The terminal can now be configured and purchased in our B2B portal.

As with every POLYTOUCH®, we also use the OUTDOOR is based on a modular platform concept that allows us to develop different model variants from a flexible hardware base. This means that specific adaptations to our customers' use cases can be made cost-effectively.

The basic weatherproof equipment of the OUTDOOR includes a steel and aluminum chassis, a C4 corrosivity category coating, a sophisticated sealing concept, a heating and cooling system, a robust CEE coupling for connection to the power grid and a 32" full HD touch displayfrom our in-house brand faytech®. Optical bonding and a brightness of 1000 cd/m2 ensure very good readability of the screen content in direct sunlight.

Printer, scanner and payment complete the peripherals. The terminal is available either without an operating system or with Windows 11 IoT.

But if POLYTOUCH® were not POLYTOUCH®, the OUTDOOR would not have room for optional modules: Wifi or LTE for connecting to wireless networks are possible, as are an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and a base for elevated mounting of the terminal on site.

A typical use case for the POLYTOUCH® OUTDOOR can be found in the franchise restaurants. There it brings the advantages of self-ordering to the terraces and beer gardens: fast ordering and payment, increased order accuracy, profitable cross-selling and upselling of up to 30%.

For ticketing in local public transport (round-the-clock tickets at bus and streetcar stops) and in the leisure industry (purchase of admission tickets for theme parks), we provide the OUTDOOR in a version with a dual printer system and extended payment options (RFID).

About the OUTDOOR already handle the Stadtwerke Erlangen (bus stops) and the Stadtverkehr Lübeck (Travemünde ferry terminal) already handle cashless self-service ticket sales. International OUTDOOR include the Swedish company A-Train, which operates the Arlanda Express, a high-speed train connection between Stockholm Central Station and the airport.
